Extended Abstract

As institutions of higher education continue to evolve and respond to the changing needs of learners, it becomes even more critical to better understand learner behavior. For online students, in particular, data can be mined from your learning management system that can help staff and faculty mitigate student attrition, improve learning outcomes, and satisfaction. This session will review how a learning management system, in this case D2L Brightspace, can be mined. Examples will include action research within the system, use of data for student success management, and data-informed teaching.
