Brief Abstract

Merging Competency-Based Education and Credentials conversations together will expose areas where developing your institution’s approach to both methodologies will create efficiencies in infrastructure and, ultimately, deliver an ideal student solution. Learn how to bridge these two methods in this interactive, audience-participatory session.

Extended Abstract

At a recent summit centered on digital credentials, the presenters observed that while credential strategies and CBE share a similar spirit, very little discussion was happening around CBE. This session is intended to bring CBE and Credentials together into the same conversation, to discuss the role CBE can play in producing quality Credentials, and to open awareness of the ecosystem that includes both CBE and Credentials.

Attendees will learn how implementing a CBE program aligned to a Credentials approach will lay a long-term foundation for success, as well as gain learnings from the conversation in the badging and credentialing space.
